Pizzas

Pizza: Vegetarian, meat, chicken, seafood.
Pizzas are pretty easy to make, and we often involve the students in the preparation.

Ingredients
You can use almost anything as a pizza topping, it's the combination of ingredients that is the fun part.

  • 4 medium thin-base pizza bases
  • 500g of passata (pureed tomato) or 2 cans of crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • mixed herbs
  • toppings
  • Mozarella (or pizza) shredded cheese
Sauce
  1. lightly fry the onion and garlic
  2. Add the tomato, mixed herbs, pepper and salt to taste
  3. Simmer for about 30 minutes to reduce the liquid so the sauce is a not too thin

Chicken Pizza
  1. Spread sauce on the pizza base
  2. Add pre-cooked chicken pieces (about 1 thigh fillet)
  3. Add sliced fresh mushrooms
  4. Add frozen peas
  5. Add pre-cooked roast/BBQ eggplant, or thin fresh eggplant slices
  6. Top with sprinkled cheese
Meat Pizza
  1. Spread sauce on the pizza base
  2. Add some shredded proscuitto or panchetta (thinly sliced cured pork)
  3. Add small dabs of raw minced beef
  4. Add sliced fresh mushrooms
  5. Add pre-cooked roast/BBQ eggplant, or thin fresh eggplant slices
  6. Top with sprinkled cheese
Prawn Pizza
  1. Spread sauce on the pizza base
  2. Add some shredded proscuitto or panchetta (thinly sliced cured pork)
  3. Add approximately 8-12 green prawns
  4. Add sliced fresh mushrooms
  5. Add some baby spinach leaves
  6. Add thinly sliced red capsicum
  7. Top with sprinkled cheese
Vegetarian Pizza
  1. Spread sauce on the pizza base
  2. Add sliced fresh mushrooms
  3. Add some baby spinach leaves
  4. Add pre-cooked roast/BBQ eggplant, or thin fresh eggplant slices
  5. Add pre-cooked roast/BBQ zucchini, or thin fresh zucchini slices
  6. Add frozen peas
  7. Add thinly sliced red capsicum
  8. Top with sprinkled cheese
Cooking

  1. Pre-heat oven to about 180C
  2. Put 2-3 pizzas in a hot fan oven (220C) for about 10 minutes.
  3. You may need to rotate the pizzas on the shelves if they cook unevenly.
  4. Slice into pieces and serve
