Pizza: Vegetarian, meat, chicken, seafood. |
Ingredients
You can use almost anything as a pizza topping, it's the combination of ingredients that is the fun part.
- 4 medium thin-base pizza bases
- 500g of passata (pureed tomato) or 2 cans of crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- mixed herbs
- toppings
- Mozarella (or pizza) shredded cheese
Sauce
- lightly fry the onion and garlic
- Add the tomato, mixed herbs, pepper and salt to taste
- Simmer for about 30 minutes to reduce the liquid so the sauce is a not too thin
Chicken Pizza
- Spread sauce on the pizza base
- Add pre-cooked chicken pieces (about 1 thigh fillet)
- Add sliced fresh mushrooms
- Add frozen peas
- Add pre-cooked roast/BBQ eggplant, or thin fresh eggplant slices
- Top with sprinkled cheese
Meat Pizza
- Spread sauce on the pizza base
- Add some shredded proscuitto or panchetta (thinly sliced cured pork)
- Add small dabs of raw minced beef
- Add sliced fresh mushrooms
- Add pre-cooked roast/BBQ eggplant, or thin fresh eggplant slices
- Top with sprinkled cheese
Prawn Pizza
- Spread sauce on the pizza base
- Add some shredded proscuitto or panchetta (thinly sliced cured pork)
- Add approximately 8-12 green prawns
- Add sliced fresh mushrooms
- Add some baby spinach leaves
- Add thinly sliced red capsicum
- Top with sprinkled cheese
Vegetarian Pizza
- Spread sauce on the pizza base
- Add sliced fresh mushrooms
- Add some baby spinach leaves
- Add pre-cooked roast/BBQ eggplant, or thin fresh eggplant slices
- Add pre-cooked roast/BBQ zucchini, or thin fresh zucchini slices
- Add frozen peas
- Add thinly sliced red capsicum
- Top with sprinkled cheese
Cooking
- Pre-heat oven to about 180C
- Put 2-3 pizzas in a hot fan oven (220C) for about 10 minutes.
- You may need to rotate the pizzas on the shelves if they cook unevenly.
- Slice into pieces and serve
